Rugby acquires the Las Vegas distribution operations of Lumber Products
Rugby Architectural Building Products, Concord, NH, announces the acquisition of the Las Vegas distribution operations of Lumber Products, headquartered in Tualatin, OR. After a brief transition period, the operation will be consolidated into Rugby’s Las Vegas distribution center. The acquired operation will commence doing business as Rugby ABP, effective today. Door production will be transitioned into Rugby’s recently expanded hardwood moulding operations.
“The integration of Lumber Products’ Las Vegas operation expands Rugby’s product offering into the value-added door and millwork segment while enhancing our market position in our core industrial base” commented Drew Dickinson, Rugby COO. “The LP Las Vegas team has done an excellent job maintaining market share through challenging times and we are excited to have them join Rugby.”
“Our Rugby Las Vegas team, with the tremendous support of our world-class vendors in that market, has done an outstanding job profitably growing sales 46% in 2011, in a market which by any measure has been the epicenter of the US housing crisis,” says David Hughes, Rugby CEO. “The opportunity to integrate Lumber Products Las Vegas expands our product base in partnership with leading manufacturers in the door and millwork category. This consolidation supports our strategy to diversify into value-added components and services more broadly within the commercial and residential construction sector.”
